Use a police safe-exchange zone

Many police departments offer monitored “safe exchange” or “internet purchase” zones — well-lit areas, often with cameras, in or near the station lot. They're free and open to the public. ZaZooom can point you to the nearest ones as a convenience.

Simple rules that keep you safe

• Meet in daylight, in a public, monitored place.
• Bring someone with you; never go alone.
• Tell a friend where you're going and when.
• Keep the transaction simple and leave if anything feels off.
• Prefer buyers and sellers who carry the Shield — but remember it's a track record, not a safety guarantee.
